God's Backyard: Under the Sun is the theme of this summer's Vacation Bible School. Our week will include an emphasis on community outreach.
God’s Backyard revolves around five simple ways we can all serve: Serve Family, Serve Friends, Serve Neighbors, Serve Community, Serve Jesus. Each of these serves as a focus on one day of our week together.
Each day starts with one of these five, and a Bible story to connect the theme for the day and the group of the day.
God’s Backyard is an approachable, fun way for kids to realize and reinforce the importance of their own service to those around them while simultaneously reminding us that service begins in our own homes, and even in our own backyards.
A team from our church (including high school students) will be using the same curriculum the following week to offer a Vacation Bible School in Azua, Dominican Republic.
